Alternative
and Vivid
Hair Color

Vivid placements, fashion tones, rainbow work, and color correction by Brandi Gross. The color work most salons in Rapid City don’t offer or don’t do well. Every color appointment starts with a consultation.

Color is a portfolio purchase.

Color is something you see before you book. Scroll the work, then start a consult for yours.

Color starts
with a plan.

Vivid and alternative color is not a walk-in service. What is achievable depends on your starting hair, its history, and how many sessions the result honestly needs. The consult is where that gets mapped, before any color goes on hair.

1

You book a consultation

A short sit-down, in person or virtual. Bring inspiration photos and your hair history. No color happens at this appointment.

2

Brandi maps the work

What is realistic from your starting point, how many sessions it takes, what it costs, and the timeline to get there. Honest, before you commit.

3

You book the color

With a clear plan and no surprises. Single session or staged over several, depending on what the work needs.

What lives on the color side.

Every service below begins with the consultation. None book directly.

Vivid Color

Consult required

Bold, saturated placements. Single colors or blends, rooted or all-over, built to read loud and hold up.

Rainbow Work

Consult required

Multi-color placements, melts, and sectioned designs. The most session-intensive color work, and the most striking.

Bleach Work

Consult required

The lift that vivid color depends on. Done with your hair’s health front of mind, staged when it needs to be.

fashion Color

Consult required

Pastels, fantasy tones, dimensional placements. The softer end of alternative color, planned around your base.

Color Correction

Consult required

Fixing color from another salon or a home attempt. Correction is its own craft and almost always takes more than one session.

Grey Coverage

Consult required

Blending or covering grey, including grey camouflage for men. Natural-looking, low-maintenance options available.

Color takes time.

A vivid color appointment is not a quick stop. Depending on the work, expect to be in the chair for several hours, and expect some results to take more than one visit to reach.

That is not a limitation. It is what doing color right looks like. A rushed bleach or a one-session rainbow that should have taken three is how hair gets damaged and color goes wrong.

Come with clean, dry hair unless told otherwise. Plan the day around it. Bring something to do. The result is worth the chair time.

Color is consult-priced.

No flat menu price

Vivid and alternative color is priced from the consultation, because cost depends on your starting hair, the number of sessions, and the amount of product and chair time the work needs. You get the full number before any color is booked, never after.

Before you book.

  • Because vivid color is not one-size-fits-all. Your starting color, past dye and bleach, and hair condition all change what is possible and how long it takes. The consult lets Brandi give you an honest plan and an accurate price before you commit, instead of guessing in the chair.

  • Depending on the work, anywhere from two hours to a full day. Bleach and vivid placements take the longest. Brandi gives you the time estimate at the consult so you can plan the day around it.

  • Color and bleach are chemical processes, so hair health is always part of the plan. When a result needs more lift than your hair can safely take in one sitting, the work gets staged across sessions to protect it. That is exactly why the consult comes first.

  • Yes. Color correction is its own specialty. Bring photos of where your hair is now and where you want it to go to the consult, and Brandi will map what the correction realistically takes.

  • It varies, which is why color is consult-priced rather than listed at a flat rate. You get the full price at the consultation, based on your hair and the sessions the work needs, before anything is booked.
